Steve Gettleman

Enterprise, Category & Brand Strategy

Bio:

A Global Category Management Executive with over 20 years’ experience at Fortune 1000 companies, Steve has expertise in Enterprise and Category Strategy, Supplier Management, as well as Private Branding and Global Sourcing. At ADI Global Distribution, the world’s largest distributor of low voltage electronics, Steve led the organization in the functions of Brand Building and Global Sourcing. Prior to ADI, Steve occupied a variety of Senior leadership roles at MSC, North America’s premier Metalworking Industrial Supply Distributor. Steve led MSC’s Metalworking Strategy Team, Enterprise Pricing Team, Capital Machinery Division and West Coast Wholesaling Operation. He led some of the organization’s most important supplier relationships and pioneered MSC’s Global Sourcing program. While based in Shanghai, he built the infrastructure to drive substantial cost savings and facilitate the establishment and build-out of MSC’s most successful private brands. Steve was a central leader in transforming MSC’s legacy product department into a world-class category management team.

Steve received his BA from the University of California at Berkeley, and an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

Robert Varzino

Marketing & Digital Transformation

Bio:

A creative problem-solver and leader, Robert Varzino excels at guiding teams through challenging initiatives. For more than two decades Robert was a Sr. Executive with JPW – a leading industrial tool manufacturer – where his responsibilities included managing $300M in revenue, driving operational efficiencies and revitalizing new product development. Bob drove JPW brands to top market share in their respective categories and increased profit margin by 20% through new product development and sku rationalization. He revitalized an underperforming business unit through pivoting strategy, financial analysis and rigor, restructuring products, and creating an engaged workforce. He further led the organization through its digital transformation, creating demand through website development, SEO, advertising, email marketing, direct mail, and B2B product training. Robert also led the company through its implementation of Salesforce.com greatly improving deal closure rates and sales operations efficiency.

Sethu Palat

Strategy & Operations

Bio:

An accomplished and transformational business leader with senior leadership experience in a range of Fortune 1000 distribution and manufacturing environments, Sethu helps companies uncover and unleash their potential by leveraging people, process and technology. He has more than 30 years’ experience in developing and executing business strategy, marketing and operations that have consistently delivered share gain and profit growth. As VP of Strategy and New Business for Global Industrial – a national industrial supply distributor with over 1.7m Sku’s and more than $1B revenue – he developed and executed the go-to-market strategy for entering new verticals, and led a team responsible for over $400M in revenue. He also led the execution of various enterprise-wide strategic and operational initiatives including a multi-year organizational transformation which led to record revenue and operating income growth. Prior to Global Industrial Sethu held various leadership roles at MSC Industrial Supply and at ADI Global in category management, supplier engagement, and process optimization. Sethu also brings a wealth of experience from his tenure at TDK Electronics, where he held leadership roles in Operations, Business Process and Marketing.

Sethu has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Calicut, India and an MBA from Georgia State University.

Jack Daniels

Product Engineering & Global Sourcing

Bio:

Jack has over twenty-five years’ experience in engineering, manufacturing operations, marketing & sales, finance, regulatory compliance and international business development. He has lived and worked in China and the Republic of Korea.

Jack served as the Director of Asian Operations of Rogers Corporation, a manufacturer of advanced materials used in the computer, handheld electronics, office automation and telecommunication industries and established a network of commercial service centers throughout Asia including a manufacturing campus in Mainland China. Jack also worked in executive roles for GE Plastics and Taconic Plastics, where he launched several successful subsidiaries and joint ventures in the Asia-Pacific region. Jack leads of team of more than 30 highly skilled and technical sourcing professionals positioned throughout the Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe and Mexico.

He is a graduate of Northeastern University and holds a combined Chemical and Environmental Engineering degree.
